Palermo, Sicily

So sorry travelers for the delay but we have been internetless. The ship was charging us $30 an hour, yes AN HOUR!!! and at our last hotel it was "broken", can you believe it. Anyway I digress.

Tuesday, September 15, we arrived in Palermo, the capital city of Sicily, an island off Italy. Per the ship news letter the area is "famous for its production of citrus fruits". This city has more than one million people in it and we never got to any citrus groves.

We took the hop on hop off bus and saw the sites via a double decker bus with the top opened and a running commentary heard with ear phones hooked up to your selected language.

Did get off at the Cathedral and it was lovely.

Went to the open market that was interesting. We notice a lot of loose dogs around the city but they all seem to be well behaved and fed.

We were very hot and tired so went back to the ship. Left Sally at the "Zen" pool and later found her with these guys.

They are at our same dinner table if you remember when we got on the ship I introduced you. These guys were pretty funny, they've been together for 29 years and say they go on a lot of cruises together.

We tried to find you all something special but everything was made in India. Anyway, you can probably tell this was not my favorite place but we lacked time to go out of the large crowded city.
