Yesterday we docked in Genoa, the biggest port in Italy and the Capital City of the Liguria region. We didn't stay there, we took an excursion to beautiful Portofino, known for it's basil, focaccia bread (YUM), and beautiful photographs like the one I took here.
Today we docked in Naples, home of Pompei and Mount Vesuvius. We took the ferry on our own to lovely Sorrento. This pearl of the Gulf of Naples is surrounded by limestone hills, olive trees and citrus plantations.

You've reached my favorite country!! Please take lots of pictures and have as many flavors of gelato for me as you can :-) If you get a chance, post more pics of Italy, I'll just continue to sit at my desk and sob, wishing I was there :-) Looks like you are having good weather.
